Is Kid Kindness part of Department of Children and Family investigations?

The Kid Kindness program is a counseling program with an intentional focus helping children grow emotionally and correcting behaviors while supporting parents to do the same.  Counseling is not investigative and is not part of Department of Children and Family (DCF) investigations.  We do have an obligation, as all Florida citizens do, to report any new incidents in which we perceive abuse or neglect of a child.  But even in doing so, we make that report only, and do not investigate. If DCF has recommended treatment then we can acknowledge the child’s participation in our program in support of the parent’s response to the situation.
