Will my child need a medical exam?

This will be determined by the Child Protection Team (CPT), Department of Children and Family (DCF), and law enforcement on a case by case basis. Consideration is given to the individual circumstances and the statutory requirements. If your child is to be examined they will be meeting with a member of CPT’s medical staff. We do allow one non-offending care giver to be present during the medical assessment process. Note: If you are the alleged perpetrator you will not be allowed in the medical room during the assessment process.
