SEXUAL ABUSE TREATMENT PROGRAM

What is SATP?
A therapeutic program in Sarasota and DeSoto Counties for children and families who have reported and documented sexual abuse.
A support system for non-offending parents and children committed to healing the wounds of sexual abuse.
A service that offers guidance to those families who wish to reunite.
All treatment is provided by trained therapists in age appropriate groups and supplemental therapies.

What are the goals of SATP?

  • Break the cycle of sexual abuse.
  • Repair wounded self-images.
  • Encourage self-empowerment.
  • Re-establish healthy family relationships.
  • Provide support through shared experiences.
  • Learn to distinguish from healthy to unhealthy touch.
  • Teach appropriate parenting skills.


What can I Do?

  • Inform others about SATP.
  • Support the work of SATP with your generous donations.
  • Report all suspected incidents of sexual abuse by calling the toll free Abuse Hotline


What are the costs of SATP?
SATP operates on a grant received from the State of Florida and is coordinated by the Child Protection Center, Inc. Additional money is provided by United Way, Sarasota County, community grants and private donations.
Many health insurance policies include benefits for mental health treatment.
No one is denied services due to inability to pay.

How do clients enter SATP?

Families are referred by the Child Protection Team and by community agencies. Individuals and other professionals.
